Kanye West and Jay-Z are preparing to take the music world by storm with an album collaboration entitled Watch The Throne.

Pre-orders for the album start in August, which is when we can expect to start feeling the full force of the powerful duo. Last.fm Trends decides to pit the rappers against each other to see if there’s much between them prior to their double attack.

Watch The Throne has been in production since August last year and is sure to be a success if their past successes are anything to go by. Below shows how the two fare when placed head to head with each other.

Kanye West has proved to be more popular amongst Last.fm listeners by some distance, being scrobbled a total of 92,627,130 times compared to Jay-Z’s 45,357,171.

It’s possible for Last.fm users to ‘ban’ a track from being played to them on Last.fm’s radio stations if they’re not a fan of it. It’s interesting to note that Jay-Z’s track “99 Problems” is recently his most loved track amongst listeners as well as his most banned – although with the track being scrobbled 1,839,124 times it shouldn’t worry the New York rapper too much.

Whilst Kanye has enjoyed greater success than Jay-Z over recent years, the pairing of two of the biggest names in rap is sure to be a blast.
