Who is in the top spot for selling digital music of ALL TIME? According to Nielsen Soundscan reports that it’s our lady from Barbados Miss [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Rihanna[/lastfm]! It only took a total of 47.5 million downloads to get there.  She could lose her throne but she’s got it for now.

[lastfm link_type="artist_info"]The Black Eyed Peas[/lastfm] were in second place with 42.4 which ain’t too shabby!  Then [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Eminem [/lastfm]was third, of course [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Lady Gaga[/lastfm] has to be on the list with fourth place.  Finally [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Taylor Swift[/lastfm] rounds out the top five with a total of 41.82 million downloaded.

The music industry saw a spike in sales both in stores and online.  Did you buy more this  year?  I know I downloaded more than I physically bought in stores for the first time ever.  I like having a CD in my hand with liner notes, I’m old school!
