Ashton Kutcher’s production company, Katalyst Media, has sued the California DMV for apparently backing out of a contract they agreed to in 2010. The premise was to have Ashton’s camera crew come in and form a reality show centered around the daily grind at the DMV.
Katalyst Media claims it worked out a “formal written agreement” with the DMV to shoot footage during the later part of 2011. The deal was for 4 episodes with an option of 6 more.
Katalyst says it spent hundreds of thousands of dollars in preparation for the show’s launch but then received a letter from a DMV official trying to back out of the deal.
