The peeps at “Food & Wine” magazine have a new article on signs the guy you’re dating is C-H-E-A-P.  They talked to Patti Stanger from Bravo’s “The Millionaire Matchmaker”.  Here’s what they came up with…

1.  He Asks You Out for Coffee-  According to Stanger, lunch isn’t any good either because it feels too much like an interview.  She says dinner is by far the most ROMANTIC option.

Granted, coffee might not be the best idea if it’s a FIRST date.  But I’m sure plenty of people who aren’t cheap go out for coffee and call it a date.  Plus, coffee isn’t THAT cheap anymore.

2.  There’s a Groupon Involved-  This one’s definitely a red flag.  Once you’ve been together a few months, it’s fine.  But not when you just start dating.

3.  He Tries to Talk You Out of Ordering an Appetizer-  If you want one and he doesn’t, he should say, “order whatever you want.”

If he says he’s not hungry enough for one . . . or that the entrées won’t take very long . . . he’s probably thinking about how much the appetizer costs, even if it’s just five bucks.  The same rule applies for dessert.

4.  He Wants to Split an Entrée-  Sharing an appetizer or a dessert can actually make the date more INTIMATE.  But if he suggests splitting a main course, he’s probably worried about his wallet, not his weight.
