Jay-Z is known for making power moves. In his latest commercial for Duracell Powermat, he adds juice by making a connection to Beyonce.

The commercial follows the main character throughout his busy day–boardroom, coffee house, bar–with a full phone battery, while phones around him flash low levels of energy. At the end of the 60-second spot, he picks up his phone that is ringing with a name he does not recognize [Spoiler Alert], just a simple letter, “B.” Jay-Z makes a surprise appearance and asks for the phone, which apparently belongs to the rap star. 

Jay-Z’s “Run This Town” plays throughout and Jigga ends with the tagline: “Never be powerless.”

In January it was announced that Jay-Z had invested in Duracell Powermat and would become the product spokesperson. The powermat is a wireless phone charger that allows users to charge phones on the go.  –E. Parker, CBS Local
