LL Cool J proved to the world last week that he is not a guy you want to mess with. The singer and actor may play a special agent on the CBS hit show, “NCIS: Los Angeles,” but in real life, he didn’t need to act.

On August 22, CBS Local learned that LL Cool J single-handedly stopped a suspected robbery in process in his own home, detaining the intruder until police arrived. The intruder, Jonathan A. Kirby, sustained a broken nose, jaw and ribs.

Although LL detained this man in his own home, Kirby has pleaded not guilty to the charges. He is presently being held in jail and Yahoo News learned a new hearing has been scheduled for September 10 in Los Angeles to determine whether or not there is enough evidence for a trial.

If it goes to trial, the criminal complaint against Kirby alleges at least two prior convictions in California. Under California law, this means it would be his third strike and with three strikes, you’re out! Kirky could face 38 years to life in prison.
