Frank Ocean has spoken out on the citation he received for speeding and weed possession. But he took to Twitter for a confession of sorts.

“Hi guys, I drive a M3. That b**** fast..ok guys, bye: ),” he tweeted on Thursday (January 4). “Hi guys, I smoke pot. Ok guys, bye.”

He made his remarks after the reports of his arrest hit the net. According to a statement released to Radio.com/CBS Local, Ocean was stopped for speeding in his black BMW. Deputy detected a strong odor of marijuana from inside the car. “Christopher Breaux, aka Frank Ocean, age 25, of Beverly Hills, CA, had a small bag of marijuana on his person,” the statement said. “Mr. Breaux was cited for possession of marijuana and released.”

Gossip site Mediatakeout reported that Frank Ocean and a male companion were detained by police after authorities noticed “suspicious behavior.” Many sites insinuated the “suspicious behavior” included sexual acts but the early reports were false.

Ocean received a Notice to Appear for possession of marijuana, driving with a suspended license, and for speeding.

The singer had a big year in 2012 and has already made an impact on the GRAMMYS. He is among the artists embroiled in a six-way tie for most GRAMMY nominations, including with Kanye West, Jay-ZThe Black Keys‘ Dan Auerbach, fun., and Mumford & Sons as the six artists who have six nominations each, to top all other artists.

Days before Ocean’s soulful, and boundary-bending Channel Orange was released, Ocean revealed via Tumblr that he once had a love affair with a man. The revelation received a storm of support from celebrities and fans who congratulated him for having the courage to come out.  --Erik Parker, Radio.com
