Is Michael Jackson’s estate “thrilled” to be done dealing with dancer Ola Ray? Probably.
Ola Ray was the leading lady in Michael Jackson’s renowned “Thriller” music video. After about 30 years, she felt she was still owed some money for the successful video.
Prior to his passing, Ray filed a lawsuit against MJ and his production company in May of 2009, claiming a breach of contract. One month later Jackson passed away, but the lawsuit lived on.
The lawsuit was settled in 2012 and TMZ just learned how much money MJ’s estate forked over. $75,000 to be exact; $55,000 went to Ray and the other $20,000 went to her lawyer.
Coincidentally, John Landis who directed the music video also filed a similar lawsuit against the estate and he also settled. However, Landis was seeking about $2 million, so he may have fared better than Ray.
