Can you believe the biggest controversy from Monday nights’ Presidential inauguration has nothing to do with President Obama?

First a spokeswoman for the Marine Corps Band came out yesterday and said that when it comes to a big performance like that, they always have a back up recording in case something goes wrong. The spokeswoman said that Beyonce made the decision to rely entirely on that recording during her performance. She also said that other performers like Kelly Clarkson also had the back up recording but did not choose to use it.

Later in the day another Marine Corp spokesman made another statement not exactly denying the claim but more so beating around the bush. He admitted that there was a backup recording and it WAS used but only because the band didn’t have enough time to practice with Beyonce. He said no one in the band was in a position to asses whether or not the performance was live or pre-recorded.

So basically he isn’t saying she didn’t lip sync but he also isn’t saying she did. What came first? The chicken? Or the egg?

Does her lip syncing the performance make it any less amazing? It was still her voice right?
