A new survey by American Express has found that millions of men are planning to propose on Valentine’s Day and millions of women are expecting to get proposed to. I bet all the women that are expecting an engagement ring are the ones that won’t be getting one because they are expecting it.

The average man will spend $272 on V day which seems like a ton of money for the Hallmark holiday! Six million people are planning to either propose or are expecting to get a proposal and the average engagement ring in 2013 is $2,410.

Valentine’s Day is less than two weeks away and if you JUST started dating someone don’t count on an engagement ring or an extravagant night. 79% of people say you should NOT go to dinner on Vday with someone you started dating in 2013. 43% say you should only go with someone you’ve been dating around two months and 37% say it has to be three months.
