Remember when you used to use a song as your voice mail recording? Forget a generic “Hi, you’ve reached Megan. I can’t get to my phone right now but leave a message.” I used to want everyone to hear my favorite song when they got to my voice mail.
Well apparently this trend is still popular in high school these days and it got one student into a little bit of trouble last week! On Friday in Pennsylvania an employee of a Doctor’s office was calling a high school student to confirm his appointment the following week. She got his voice mail which was the theme song to the 1990′s TV show “The Fresh Price of Bel-Air.” One of the lines in the song is “shootin’ some b-ball outside of the school” and the employee thought it said “shooting some PEOPLE outside of the school.” She panicked and called 911 immediately and from there the entire school district was put on lock down. The police arrested the student and detained him for 3 hours while they searched his house and locker. When they finally figured out he was good to go and things were all sorted out they let him go. The doctor’s office says their employee is very embarrassed.
Hopefully that student doesn’t get sent to live with his auntie and uncle in LA.
