The Last VCR Maker Is Stopping Production! #RIPVCR

Remember the days when you would hit up a Hollywood Video or Blockbuster and rent a VHS, take it home and put it in your VCR to find out that the tape was all tangled?! Awwww those were the days!

Many people have already moved on from the VCR, but some still own one, like myself! It is crazy how many VHS’s I still have in boxes in my closet! Well now we can officially say that VCR’s are a thing of the past. Funai Electric, the last remaining producer of VCRs, will stop producing them by the end of July.

Last year the company sold over 750,000 VCRs, but the company’s decision to stop production was based on declining sales, hmmm…you don’t say? It is also becoming difficult to find pieces to manufacture the VCR.

It was fun while it lasted but today we can officially say, RIP VCR!
