I didn’t have a ton of friends when I was in Elementary and Middle School. I had one or 2 really good friends but you know how adolescence is, friends one day, fighting the next. I remember eating lunch alone or sitting alone during lunch period a lot when I was younger and I would have loved something like this.
According to Hufftington Post, a 16 year old named Natalie Hampton from Sherman Oaks, CA created the app “Sit With Us” to help kids find people to sit with at lunch. She thinks (and I agree) that it will help prevent kids from feeling rejected and alone which can cause bigger problems. On the app you can chat with friends that go to your school and organize a lunch group, you can also find an open lunch table to join or you host an open lunch and invite other students to come. She’s also asking everyone on the app to put a stop to bullying and this is a step in the right direction.
